Over the weekend on which we commemorate those who fought and died for our country, twelve young men visited the seminary here to see if God might be calling them to fight and die, for the salvation of souls, within the ranks of the Legion.
During Memorial Day weekend, there came six young men from Miami, who are part of a youth group that one of the novices used to be in; five came from Ohio and were invited up here by Fr. John Curran, LC, and one came who is a local. Their weekend activities included sports, time with the brothers, vocational talks, and prayer time. One of the highlights of their visit was their being able to join the brothers on their Marian pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Martyrs in Auriesville, NY.
This Test Your Call retreat was the last of the year before the beginning of Candidacy, the stage of formation before entering the Novitiate. By God’s grace, there are about fifteen young men willing to discern, in a deeper way, by joining Candidacy. We pray for the Lord's call to be Legionaries.
