Fr David Daly LC (Chairman)Fr David Daly LC is a native of St. Louis, MO. He attended St. Louis University High School and then the University of Dallas. In 1990 he entered the novitiate of the Legionaries of Christ in Cheshire, CT. He completed his studies in Rome, earning his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the Gregorian University (1997) and licentiate degrees in Moral Theology (2002) and in Philosophy (2008), both from Pontifical Regina Apostolorum College in Rome.
Since his ordination on January 2, 2001, he has served as vice-rector in various seminaries in Europe and the United States. He has also spent several years working in campus ministry to college students in New England. From 2008 to 2014, he served as local superior and Local Coordinator of Apostolate for the Regnum Christi Movement in Atlanta, GA, and from 2014 to 2017, he was the President-Rector of the College.
Fr Nikola Derpich LC (Vice-Chairman)Fr. Nikola Derpich was born and raised in Watsonville, California to a Croatian American family. He attended Moreland Notre Dame School, Watsonville High School, and the University of California at Santa Cruz. After graduating from UCSC with a double major and working in the computer industry for seven and a half years he discerned a priestly vocation and arrived at the Legionaries of Christ Novitiate on May 30, 1997, to become a Legionary novice and start studying for the priesthood. On September 4th, 1999, he professed first temporal vows as a Legionary of Christ and was sent to Rome to study for a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum. From 2001-2003 he lived in Atlanta, GA in a Legionary community and helped with youth work throughout the southeast, mainly in Louisiana and Florida. He returned to Rome in 2003 and started a Bachelor's degree in Theology in the Athenaeum. On the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi in 2005, he made his perpetual profession of vows, and on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception in 2006 was ordained a priest in Rome and continued his theology studies, doing a Licentiate from 2006-2008 and then starting a doctorate in 2008, which was completed on March 26th, 2015. Since 2009 he has taught at the university level in New York, Rhode Island, and Rome. From 2017-2020 he also helped part-time as an Associate Pastor at St. Brendan the Navigator Church in Cumming, GA. From 2000-2006 he was a regular contributor to the English edition of Sacerdos magazine, writing the regular feature Priests of the XXth Century. In addition to his doctoral dissertation on Holy Orders and academic articles concerning topics of ecclesiology, he has written several blogs and is the author of Maximizing the Mass (RC Spirituality Center, 2020). Fr. Nikola currently spends the Fall each year in Rome teaching at Regina Apostolorum as a theology professor, and the rest of the year in Raleigh, NC working on projects for RC Spirituality Center as well as other writing and academic projects.
Fr Frank Formolo LC (Secretary, Treasurer)Born in Milwaukee, WI, Fr Frank entered the Novitiate of the Legionaries of Christ in 1990. He served as administrator of Dublin Oak Academy and the novitiate of the Legionaries of Christ in Dublin, Ireland from 1993 - 1995, and as the administrator of the Legionary community in Washington, DC, from 1995 -1996. Fr Frank obtained a Licentiate in Philosophy (June 2000) and a bachelor’s degree in Theology (June 2003) from Pontifical Regina Apostolorum College in Rome. Fr Frank was ordained a priest in 2003 and served as vice rector and administrator from 2007-2012 of the community in Dallas, the Legionary formation center in Thornwood in 2015, NY, and Sacred Heart Apostolic School, Rolling Prairie, IN in 2016. From 2012-2015 he served as superior and administrator of the Legionary community in Edgerton, WI. He is currently coursing an Executive Masters in Nonprofit Administration at the University of Notre Dame as well as beginning his new role as territorial administrator for the Legionaries of Christ in North America.
Fr Mark Haydu, LCA native of Akron, Ohio, Fr Mark Haydu obtained two undergraduate degrees in Philosophy and Theology from the Pontifical Regina Apostolorum College in Rome as well as going on to obtain two licentiate degrees (STL) in Political Moral Philosophy and Christian Moral Theology from the same college. From October 2007 to June 2016, he served in the Vatican as the International Coordinator of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums. From June 2016, he continues to serve as Special Advisor to the International Coordinator of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums. Fr Mark currently lives in Rye, NY, serving as the National Chaplain of Lumen Institute.
His 2013 book Meditations on Vatican Art won best book in Catholic Publishing from the Catholic Publishers Association while it was a bestselling book in art and spirituality at Amazon for several weeks running. His second book, Meditations on Vatican Art: Angels, won similar awards and accolades. His articles and interviews have appeared in various publications such as MSNBC, National Catholic Register, EWTN, Rome Reports, Alpha and Omega, Victoria and Albert Museum catalog, and the Vatican Museums Bulletin.
Francisco "Borja" Olano
Borja is from Barcelona Spain and has been in RC since the early 2000’s, and his passion has been the Shroud of Turin since 1982.
He is a member of the Board of Trustees from Kennesaw State University.
Borja assists his wife Rosemary, who operates Holy Family Counseling Center, which they acquired in 2018.
Since early 2021, he is associated with the Crosland Barnes Group, in the area of business development for commercial real estate.
After 38 years of service to The Coca-Cola Company, Borja retired in 2020 as Vice President Latin America, having worked for the Coca-Cola system most of his professional career.
Starting in Coca-Cola Spain in 1983, Borja’s career has made significant contributions to the company through a variety of international assignments in Spain, Canada and the Latin America region. During his last 15 years, Borja has managed the business and partnership with McDonald’s in Latin America and Canada, where he has been very successful developing a strategic framework for a total beverage portfolio and managing the billion-dollar account and actively participated in Latin America’s Executive Leadership Team
He has an MBA from Georgia State and a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech.
John RoachJohn Roach studied at New York University and earned his B.A. in Finance. In 2016 he co-founded Cross Stone Capital Management LP in Purchase, NY where he is also the Chief Information Officer. He resides in Greenwich with his wife Jennifer and their eight children, five boys and three girls.
Jeffrey SpragueJeffrey Sprague is the Founder (2010) and Managing Partner at Vertical Research Partners. Jeff is a 30-year Wall Street research veteran. Before founding Vertical Research Partners, he served in senior research roles at Citigroup, Salomon Smith Barney, Cowen & Company, and PaineWebber. He most recently served as Managing Director and Global Industrial Sector Head at Citi coordinating industrial research between the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
Jeff served four years in the U.S. Army as a non-commissioned officer and tank commander. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he served an additional four years in the Ohio National Guard. He is a graduate of the University of Akron (1988) with a degree in Finance and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Jeff has been active in charitable work with his wife Val for decades. Val co-founded The Children’s Hope Chest, a non-profit, which supports youth in becoming actively involved in helping children suffering from poverty, neglect, abuse, and hunger. In 2016, Jeff and Val received the Graymoor Award from the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement for their devotion to serving the Lord and promulgating Catholic values in both their personal and working lives. In 2020, Jeff and Val received the Brother Anthony Freeman Award from the Legionaries of Christ for their years of dedicated service supporting religious vocations. Jeff has served in various leadership roles serving the Church and religious organizations over the years including 3 years as the Annual Fund chair at the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, on the advisory board of Assumption School in Peekskill, and as the Regnum Christi Local Director for New York Tri-State. He currently serves as the Finance chair for the Regnum Christi Tri-State and as Finance Chair at his parish, St Patrick’s in Armonk.
