Fr Timothy Walsh LC, Ph.D. (President-Rector)
Fr. Timothy Walsh is a native of Cornwall, Canada. He studied physics before entering the Legionary seminary. Fr. Timothy was ordained to the priesthood in 2006 and since then has ministered in Indiana, Ohio, New Hampshire, and Houston. He has experience working in formation through the apostolic schools and has also served as chaplain with the Regnum Chisti sections. In 2020 Fr. Timothy was appointed President-Rector of the College.
Fr Jon Budke LC (Vice-Rector)
Fr Jon, the eleventh of thirteen children, was raised on the Budke farm near Underwood, MN. After finishing high school in June of 1989, he entered the Legionary novitiate in Cheshire, CT, and made his first profession of vows in 1991. He started his seminary studies with two years of novitiate and one year of humanities and studied for his B.A. in Philosophy and in Theology in the Pontifical Regina Apostolorum College in Rome, Italy. His pastoral training and experience started with an internship in Maryland, working in youth programs, and a few years later in administration in Orange, CT. After ordination to the priesthood on January 2nd, 2001, his ministry was first serving as school chaplain, spiritual director for the Regnum Christi men, and retreat director in Maryland. He helped found the Legionary of Christ residence in San Jose, CA, while also serving as director and chaplain for groups of Regnum Christi in places like Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, Calgary Alberta, and Saskatoon Saskatchewan. He then moved to Denver, CO, where he served the community of Regnum Christi while also continuing to serve the Pacific NW and western Canada, as retreat director, spiritual director, and working in private Catholic education. He moved to Chicago in the summer of 2011 and served as director of the Legionary community, and as a board member and chaplain of Everest Academy in Lemont until coming to Cheshire.
Fr. Miguel de la Torre LC (Dean of Studies)
Fr Miguel was born in Tepatitlán, Jalisco, Mexico in 1976. He joined the Legionaries of Christ in 1988. From 1990 to 1996 he studied at the Immaculate Conception Apostolic School in Center Harbor, New Hampshire, and in the Novitiate of the Congregation in Cheshire, Connecticut. In 1996 he was appointed Dean of studies of the Apostolic School in Leon, Mexico. In 2003, he received his licentiate degree in Philosophy at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum with a specialization on Martin Heidegger and Thomas Aquinas on Truth in Rome. Since 2003 he has been working in different cities of Brazil with the spiritual and intellectual formation of future priests. He received his Bachelor´s Degree in Theology in 2006 and was ordained a priest in that same year. From 2013 until 2018 he served as Pastor at Saint Edwiges Catholic Church in São Paulo, Professor and Confessor of Diocesan Seminarians, Professor at the Interdiocesan Seminary, Maria Mater Ecclesiae in São Paulo with classes about Introduction to Philosophy and a Seminar on the Quaestiones Disputatae of St Thomas Aquinas. In September 2019 Fr. Miguel became the Dean of Studies for the Legion of Christ College of Humanities in Cheshire.
John Monette (Business Manager)
John was born in 1972 in Lowell, MA. He holds a licentiate in Philosophy from the Pontifical Gregorian University (Rome) and an M.B.A. from Mercy College in Westchester County, New York. He runs the business office at the seminary.
Clendy J. Calderon (Secretary to the Dean of Studies, Registrar and Receptionist)
Clendy Calderon was born in 1979 in Brooklyn, NY. She has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. She moved to Newtown, CT, from NYC with her two sons in 2018. She previously worked with the Diocese of Brooklyn and Bridgeport.
